Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go! This page explains how to permanently delete your Prayer Mate account and all associated data. Please read carefully before proceeding with account deletion.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Prayer Mate account directly from within the app. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Prayer Mate app on your device
  2. Go to the Profile tab (bottom navigation)
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the Profile screen
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm deletion when prompted

💡 Your account will be deleted immediately upon confirmation. There is no recovery period.

💡 Using guest mode? Your data is stored only on your phone, not on our servers. To erase it, go to Profile → Leave Guest Mode, or uninstall the app.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

  • Your user profile (name, email address)
  • All prayer tracking history and statistics
  • Prayer streaks (current and longest)
  • All dua memorization progress
  • Goals and goal completion records
  • Qaza backlog records
  • Notification tokens, device information, time zone, and stored location
  • History of notifications sent to you
  • Your sign-in account in Firebase Authentication (email or Google sign-in)

Deletion Timeline

Immediate deletion: Your account and all associated data is deleted immediately from our database when you confirm deletion in the app.

Authentication: Your authentication credentials are also removed from Firebase Authentication at the time of deletion.

Backups: Copies of deleted data may remain in encrypted database backups for up to 7 days, after which they are overwritten. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Analytics: Usage analytics collected through Firebase Analytics are not linked to your name or email and are kept according to Firebase's retention settings.

Data We Do NOT Collect or Store

Prayer Mate does not collect or store:

  • Payment information (the app is free)
  • Contacts or address book information
  • Photos, videos, or other media files
  • Browsing history or search queries outside the app

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives before permanently deleting your account:

  • Sign out: You can simply sign out of the app without deleting your account
  • Disable notifications: Turn off prayer reminders in Profile if they're bothersome
  • Take a break: Your data will remain safe even if you don't use the app for a while
